Vision Screening

In October of 2019, VMB traveled to Ethiopia and performed over 250 vision screenings in two days at different prisons.  Dr. Susan Moon accompanied Michael and Toni Rhoads, along with Prison Fellowship Ethiopia to help distribute reading glasses, donated prescription glasses and over the counter eye drops.  VMB had purchased QuickSee an automated vision screener to help determine the inmates prescriptions.  One inmate who had only one, was able to obtain glasses for the first time so he could see at a distance.  The look of astonishment on his face and thanksgiving was remarkable. Another prisoner was profusely thankful for the reading glasses because now he could read his Bible again. VMB plans on returning in the near future to repeat this event again and hopefully bring some medicine, Lord willing.

Malawi

PROJECT

February 2017, Visiting My Brothers  visited Malawi, Africa for a 7 day project in conjunction with Prison Fellowship Malawi. Plans included visiting and sharing Christ's love with men and women incarcerated in and around Blantyre.

Our main focus was  a continuation of last years project which included instructing the inmates in making hand soap, laundry soap and toothpaste. The intention of this project was twofold, to provide items that inmates would use for their personal use while incarcerated, as well as equipping them with a skill that may be used to provide income upon their release.

We l also  distributed toiletries, shoes, clothing, eyeglasses, and food stuffs which was purchased locally in country.

Sponsor a Child

PROJECT

The Children of Prisoners Sponsorship Program, initiated by Prison Fellowship International is unlike any other.  In addition to providing children of prisoners with nutritious food, healthcare, schooling, and other basic needs, this program is unique in that it provides for children who are unable to be included in other sponsorship programs, simply because of their position of having a parent in prison.  In order to care for these children and to share the love of Christ with them, C.P.P. also provides them with an individually assigned worker who searches them out and visits with them on a regular basis in their own homes. Caring sponsors make it possible to give these innocent victims a safe loving environment where their health, emotional and spiritual needs can be met. Please prayerfully consider following Christ's command to "do for the least of these."
